Poem: Stages of Grief
I am experiencing…
the despair stage of grief…
like the wind whispers
in my soul, cold and lost.
I am experiencing…
the desperate stage of grief: denial
like the tide sweeps
in my body, paralyzed and freezed.
I am experiencing…
the desolate stage of grief: anger
like the flame burns
in my mind, angry and uneasy.
I am experiencing…
the distressing stage of grief: bargaining
like the flood rises
with thousands of “what-ifs"
I am experiencing…
the dreadful stage of grief: depression
like the dementor haunts
day and night, foggy, and lonely
I am experiencing…
the divine stage of grief: acceptance
like the the first ray of sun, shines at last
Grief, sorrow, and mourning: part of life
In acceptance, I find peace,
In loss, I find grace,
Embracing every stage
in life's endless race.
